Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the Son of God, meaning He is God who became a man to save sinners.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” – John 1:1-3, 14

Jesus, who was foretold to come by the Prophets in the Bible, came to save all who would believe in Him. Without Him we are lost and without hope, doomed eternally. God out of love came to us. He didn’t have to but He did and gave us the free will to choose whether or not to believe in Him.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16

Why did He come to earth though? Wasn’t there another way to save mankind?

Man’s nature is evil. There’s nothing that can be done humanely speaking that can change man or pardon his endless list of faults. However, God made a way by coming down to earth and becoming a sacrifice for our sins: meaning that in place of our sins, God sees the blood of His Son and is satisfied, If we place our faith in Jesus. If we do then we are changed supernaturally. When we believe what God commanded, that we should believe in His Son, then God lives in us and we become a different person.

“He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit” – Titus 3:5

Jesus lived a perfect life. He was tempted in every point yet without sin.

Why do some people say Jesus is not God? What makes them say that?

There are many cults out there (namely Jehovah’s Witnesses) who claim Jesus is not God but an angel or a prophet because Jesus Himself claimed to be the Son of God. So if He’s God’s Son then He isn’t God right? He can’t be the Son and the Father at the same time right?

The Bible makes it clear in John 1:1 that Jesus is God. There’s only one God not two or three. The Father is God and so is the Son. But both are One.

In the Old Testament God says “Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.” (Isaiah 44:6)

Jesus says the same thing in the New Testament about Himself in Revelation 1:8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and was and is to come–the Almighty.”

Then Jesus states again “These are the words of the First and the Last, who died and returned to life.” (Revelation 2:8)

In Isaiah 48:12-13 listen to what God states about Himself: “Listen to Me, O Jacob, and Israel, whom I have called: I am He; I am the first, and I am the last. Surely My own hand founded the earth, and My right hand spread out the heavens..

How can I be saved then?

(1) Allow the Word of God to convict you:

“Now the works of the flesh (our sinful nature) are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication (any sexual activity before marriage), uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcrafthatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyingsmurdersdrunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” -Galatians 5:19-21

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, or thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. – 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

All these things (including weedpornographyabortion, drugs, alcohol, rioting, and the like) bring man to hell. God hates these things. He did not shed His blood for you so that you would continue in these things. Has God’s word touched your heart today? Have you been suddenly convicted by what you’ve read? Proceed to do the following:

(2) In Prayer, Confess your sins to God and Repent from them:

“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” – Acts 2:38

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:9

(3) While you are still praying, Believe your sins are forgiven by God through what He did for you when He was priced to a cross:

“…If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” – Romans 10:9-10

“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” – Acts 16:30

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” – John 14:6

Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. – John 3:18

Friend, if you have prayed believing in Jesus Christ, you are saved. Find out what He wants you to do by asking in prayer and reading and obeying what His word says. Go to a godly Christian church, hang with those who are also genuinely saved.

Continue in the path that leads to eternal life.

A Promise for new year

“If anyone attacks you, it is not from me; whoever assails you will fall before you” – Isaiah 54:15

Herein lies a promise for God’s afflicted people who have suffered for the Name of Christ hardships, trials, difficulties, temptation, and so forth. God doesn’t forsake His people and will with their sufferings bless them; for what the enemy intended for evil, God will use for good (Genesis 50:20). What we don’t understand now, we will understand later on (John 13:7).

The 54th chapter of Isaiah encourages God’s people who have been greatly afflicted with a promise of victory. ” [The enemy] will fall before you.” Satan and his followers, the world and its traps will fail, they will not have the victory over you. Though you fell you were not utterly cast down, the Lord upheld you with His hand (Psalm 37:24). Whatever Christ allows in our lives, whether adversity (be it spiritual or physical) temptation or suffering, know that for such things we are called in Jesus Christ, that we may be counted worthy of His Kingdom when we die (2 Thessalonians 1:4-5).

What Christ is doing in our lives is very unique and differs from each one’s experience but in every Christian’s life there will be suffering. As we follow Jesus unto perfection, He will lead us into enemy territory just as the Spirit of God led Jesus into the wilderness where the devil was; or how God led His people into Canaan to fight against giants and nations of people. God makes sure we make it past through every difficulty and makes sure we also receive the reward of the faithful here in earth, after we have resisted the devil in keeping God’s commandments. I once heard “After the pressing comes God’s blessing “. If you want God’s blessing then press your way through the trial and He will bless you. Keep His commandments and you will receive a blessing or an answered prayer (Deuteronomy 11:26-27,  John 15:7 , Deuteronomy 7:12-15).

There’s no easy way to heaven. On the contrary, the easy way leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13-14). A self-willed, self-pleasing life will bear no fruit. In other words, a person living in such a state will never show evidence He has believed in Jesus to enter God’s Kingdom.

Allow me to explain, if we believe in Jesus we will follow Him and the thing is He will lead us through Battlefields (Deuteronomy 2:26-33), Tribulations (Acts 14:22), dry places (Matthew 4:1), and dark valleys (Psalm 23:4). By going where He takes us we receive “battle wounds” and battle victories which shows our evidence that we have truly followed Jesus Christ and thus we are true children of God who will enter into His Kingdom (Matthew 7:21). It’s God will to follow Jesus (Matthew 10:38-39). Are we willing to follow Him? if so, our lives will look nothing like what the world portrays a good life to be. Following Christ is a rewarding thing, both here on earth and in heaven.

As we past through sufferings and trials, when we come out of them, if we have faithfully endured, we shall come out shinning as gold! We shall come out stronger in Faith in God, and with a joy that comes with it! And we shall see our enemies stumble and fall before us because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world! (John 5) May we follow Jesus Christ in this new year and receive His blessings as we faithfully obey His voice.

This is Joseph Daniel, I hope you enjoyed reading what God has placed in my heart. Have a great new year and may you ever draw closer to Christ come what may.

Youth Treasure, a Christian Blog

Hey there! I’m Joseph Daniel and I’ve created this site to edify Christians in their walk with God. This isn’t my first post but God has led me back here with a new purpose, to reach as many Christians as possible to encourage & teach in the ways of righteousness.

Youth Treasure will intend on filling the readers heart with the truths of God’s Word, that they may treasure it and put it into practice. If we remain faithful unto the end then we shall receive a crown of life that does not fade away.

I will be posting more regularly and in the near future I will be releasing free printable tracts. I’m also glad to see my old followers are still here! God bless you guys! It always interest me that people from Germany and Netherlands read my post about God!

Sound Biblical doctrine is very important so just to be clear, I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, meaning He is God in the form of a man (John 1:1-3, 14 and 1 Timothy 3:16) Jesus came to save us from our sins and empowers us to live a godly life. We are saved only when we believe in the Blood of Jesus Christ for the washing away of our sins. That is, we have placed our trust that God has forgiven us from all our sins through what He did for us. He is our greatest treasure and this is that Treasure I want you to know about. Before you get to know me, I want you to get to know Him first!

I’m glad you’ve stopped by to read this and I hope you do give your life to Jesus Christ by repenting from your sins. Sin only destroys the soul! But thanks be to God who sent His Son to remove our debt if we have faith that He did!

Hope you stick around for more! Blessings from New York

Quench not the Spirit

Every person will walk through some valley of trouble in their life time. Job said “Man born of woman, is of few days and filled with trouble.” (Job 14:1) Whether a believer or not, trouble is coming! Only with the help of the Holy Spirit will we have the joy and strength to laugh and be confident in the mist of our problems. He is the comforter. He comes to comfort us in the time of trouble, if we are filled with Him. If not, your trouble will be troubling you for too long! God helps us when we cry out to Him, when we turn to Him for help. Never face the devil on your own. Do not resist evil. Flee from it. Flee to Jesus.

How many times have we seen a person go through a test yet they should have been depressed, sadden, discouraged, angry, or in fear but instead they weren’t? They were unmoved by the problem because the Holy Ghost helped them. Did these people suffer? Yes, but for a while because soon their suffering became joy when the Holy Spirit came to give them light of their situation and to give them encouragement through God’s word.

These people didn’t have their bibles open to the right verse but instead the Holy Spirit reminded them of that verse which encouraged them! He reminds us of the right word that is fit for us in our situation (John 14:26). When we hear that fitting verse that was meant for us then we rejoice!(Proverbs 15:23) Not only was it the right word for the right time but you also realized it wasn’t you who remembered it but God who did it for you! You were too busy worrying and thinking of what to do but God came and changed that!

He can do that with you, He can do that with every believer but it is our job not to quench the Spirit so that we may be able to stand in the evil day.

When Satan sees you are empty of the Spirit because you have quenched the Spirit with vanity or whatnot, he will soon attack knowing that you will fall to temptation without the help of the Holy Spirit. The devil does not force anyone to sin but his job is to trouble our flesh with temptations or problems so that we may instead of being comforted by the Spirit, we would seek sin to relieve our distress, worry or fear. If we had not been busy quenching the Spirit, we would be able to stand against that trouble. If we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfill the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

Though I do the things that are not sinful, though I spend my time unwisely (with television, with video games, comics, and music or videos on youtube) I put out, so to speak, the Holy Spirit who is in me. I have filled my heart instead with vanity which then leads to sin because these things or products have in turn quench God’s Spirit in me; And without the intervention of the Holy Spirit’s help I am a sitting duck when temptation strikes.

I personally avoid video games. They develop a carnal mind which is a mind that is an enemy to God (Romans 8:7). Being a friend to this world makes us enemies of God (James 4:4). So let’s get rid of whatever quenches God’s Spirit in our lives and may we seek Him more and ask for our love towards Him to grow as well; and that He would teach us many things. Amen. God bless you all!

Beware of the devil’s scheme

Flaming darts (Ephesians 6:16), also known as “the kisses of the enemy” (Proverbs 27:6) are what the devil uses to attack us with. They are evil thoughts meant to tempt, torment, or to deceive us. When these thoughts are believed, we have placed our trust or faith in the enemy’s lies. Fear is negative faith – It believes the wrong type of thing. The only fear we need is the fear of God which will keep us out of trouble (Proverbs )

Whether a Christian or not the enemy will always be at work to lead mankind astray into the paths of destruction and hell. Satan’s ultimate goal in our lives is to get us to do his desires which leads to sin which in turn leads to hell. many into the paths of depression, self piety, and sexual immorality. But we who are under the blood of Jesus Christ can break free from any curse or sinful habit keeping us bound!

Usually it involved fear or the offer was pleasure and therefore we believed it and went after it. But God who is rich in mercy has revealed Himself to us through Christ who has given us His Truths to live a life of victory through His Name.

A Call to Action

“We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” Eph 6:12

In this verse we are called to wrestle with the devil but how do we fight something that is not tangible? When the enemy attacks our mind it is here where the battle begins. Now, in every battle there are weapons used. Our weapons are spiritual – It’s Faith in God. We must be willing to obey God and to suffer faithfully for Him.

One of scriptures most basic advice for overcoming temptation is waiting on God. Desperation leads to sin. If we wait on God, praying and calling upon His name then He will answer making a way out whether it’s through His Word or a physical escape.

We find in the Bible, in the book of Exodus and Numbers, a famous story about a group of people known as the Hebrews who were slaves in Egypt but were freed by God. Moses was sent by God to help them. This same story is repeated in every Christian’s life. God sent Jesus (who is God in the flesh) to save us from our sinful slavery.

When the Jewish people had left Egypt God led them through the wilderness. The Promise land (an analogy of heaven) was just beyond it. But soon enough however temptation came and many fell into complaint about the weather, lack of food, and so on. They forgot God’s deliverance. Instead of waiting for God they simply sinned by complaining probably to relieve their stress, anxiety, or frustration about the heated weather in the desert.

Had they waited instead of complaining they would received what they needed without the judgment of God. This story was recorded so that we may learn to wait on God during temptation. It is part of overcoming it. Without waiting there is no overcoming of any sort when temptation strikes. Yes, we will suffer as we wait for God but so did God suffer for us when He became the man Jesus Christ and died for our sins, raising from the dead the third day!

I hope you enjoyed reading this! I haven’t been on for a while because I’ve been working on a website which I’m planning to launch on April. I’m promoting, The Amos Effect. It’s a good read for times like these!

The Amos Effect

A Prophetic book, the Amos Effect takes the reader through and throughout a comparative view of Amos 5:19 with the United States of America.

The Amos Effect unfolds a unique Bible prophecy and current last days events being fulfilled in America. It all started with the Twin Towers in a chain reaction and non-stopped events predicted by Amos 2600 years ago.

As a result of Amos’ oracle, America has faced a lion, a bear and a serpent but who are they and what will they accomplish? This prophecy has shaken the entire nation including the President of the United States of America.

Our present day chaos of national debt, terrorism, tensions with Russia, and soon to be revealed Mark of the Beast is owed to Amos’ prophecy. We have the power to stop such ordeal or bring it to its final completion but at the same time, Amos has the answer for America.

God’s Word & its Life giving Power

When we read the Word of God with Faith it fills our hearts with Life. We are able to feel God’s comfort and power. His presence feels very near.

Take for example my recent experience. I opened up to Peter 1:24-25 which says “The grass withers the flower fades, but the word of God stands forever”. Wow, what power, what truth!. The grass will wither and so will the flower fade away but truly His word will stand forever! Then it was here that the Word took effect in my heart showing me the grandness of God and His power which resulted in a sudden fruit of Joy (a joy which I lacked but I received after I believed with my heart the Word of God).

When the heart is filled with worldly things however, we become dry, our minds become clouded with fears and worries, making it difficult to put our faith in God’s Word. The vain things of this world chock our faith (Matthew 13:22). Sin also hardens our heart with unbelief (Hebrews 3:13) and without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). If we are not careful to fill our hearts with the truths of God’s Word, doing what it says, then we will bear no fruit and without fruit there is no entering into the Kingdom of God (Matthew 3:10).

“He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.” – Matthew 13:22

The cares of the world (or the worries of this life), the deceitfulness of riches (a love and greed for money) and the pleasures of life (worldly lust) will block us from bearing any fruit.

Jesus Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1) in Him we find this Life when we believe in Him; and when we do then we are able to open the scriptures and be filled with life as we read it with faith. There are many vain things in the world that look attracting but in the end they make us feel dead! But as Jesus said “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” – Joshua 1:8

The Amos Effect

Check out this brand new prophetic book, containing current historical events taking place in America and in the world. A prophetic sequence for the end times as accurately as never before.

As a result of Amos’ oracle, America has faced a lion, a bear and a serpent. Who are they? And what will they accomplish? This prophecy has shaken the entire nation including the President of the United States of America, still struggling to escape impeachment.

“I” has to Die

In this generation it seems as though the only sermons we hear about are how to improve self, your destiny, and life success. While we all wish to live successful peaceful lives, when it comes to the Gospel we are told the hard Truth.

What Jesus Christ taught may shock us because His teachings and commandments have nothing to do with Self, rather the dying to it! Jesus said “Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it die, it brings forth much fruit.” (John 12:24)

We are that corn of wheat. If we don’t die to our own will we will not bear fruit. Fruits according to God’s Word represent the result of obeying and following God’s Spirit. The result is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control (Gal 5:22-23). God’s word also says “every tree which brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire” (Matthew 3:10). So we see then the importance of bearing fruit.

Christ is looking for fruit in our lives. He said “You did not choose Me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will remain—so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.” (John 15:16)

There’s a precious promise of dying to self to do God’s Will. He’ll give you whatever you ask the Father in His name. Whatever you ask will God will do it because you have produce fruit (John 15:16). Just make sure you ask correctly and not for something to consume in your lust (James 4:3) I have found myself that the most effect prayers is when I pray for other Christians going through rough times or a lost person. God listens and acts quickly.

How do I do God’s Will?

Jesus left us an example of how to conduct ourselves here on earth but the first thing any person should do is Believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God for the remission of sins. “This is the true God and eternal life” (1 John 5:20). Repent from your sins, turn and believe Jesus’ blood is able to wash you from all your sins.

After we have believed in Jesus we are commanded to abide in Him. Jesus said “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me(John 15:4).

Doing good works won’t get us saved but if we truly believe in Jesus His Spirit abides (remains) in us and will continue to remain in us if we fill our hearts with His word, seek Him in prayer, obey His commandments, and believe daily in Jesus. Then He will operate through us to do His good will in our lives. When we believe in the Son we will Act like the Son.

The characteristics of God’s will look very much like the life of Jesus. We see Him reaching out to the poor and outcast. We see Him praying for those that have been rejected by society. And we see Jesus teaching others through parables that revolve around compassion and restoration. When He healed a sick person He told them “Don’t tell anyone who healed you.”

A deep truth is found here and it is that “one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.” (Luke 12:15 the words of Jesus) This is true so why are many preaching about the gaining of possessions as if that were to make your life any better?

God is looking for Fruit and Fruit that will last! We got to remain in Him daily, seek His Kingdom and righteousness first then we will be blessed with the things that we need and with actual blessings that can not be brought with money such as Joy and Peace. If we don’t die to self then we will never bear good remaining fruit and without fruit it shows we never truly believed in Jesus Christ. If we love God then we will love others (1 John 4:7-8). God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him (1 John 4:16) Amen.

Be Careful What You Think

“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. For whatsoever a man soweth, that also he shall reap.”

Galatians 6:7-8

What you sow you will reap can also mean that whatever kind of thought that you think upon you will reap the action of it. Satan can’t make you do something unless he gets into your mind. Therefore don’t allow him to get into your mind by allowing evil thoughts into it. Immediately shun, rebuke, and flee from it, least you entertain it and allow it to settle into your mind and thus you reap the action of it.

We become slaves to whatever we obey (Romans 6:16). Slavery, submission, and bondage towards sin begins in the mind when we allow it to absorb and chew wicked thoughts. The same can be said about unbelief. When we begin to chew on doubting thoughts our actions will then be faithless rather than confident.

These evil thoughts turn our minds carnal and a carnal minds leads to death (Romans 8:6). It may not be a sudden physical death but you will begin to feel a lack of joy, faith, and love in your soul when you sin. I will dare to say that committing such action of sin and being carnal minded cuts us off from the Vine that gives us life. Jesus Christ is that Vine and unbelief is a terrible sin! God helps us to fight doubt for without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).

This death that a carnal mind leads to is an inner death of spiritual fruits. Jesus said: “…I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…” (John 15:16) Our fruits of peace, joy, and love that the Spirit of God produced remain in us as long as we continue to follow Jesus; but and if we decide to get off the good path of the master, turning our eyes onto sin then we will soon loose the fruit of the Spirit, and thus we are left with no joy, peace, meekness, or faith in us.

If we give heed to evil thoughts then we will do evil things and if Satan knows that so and so sin is our weakness, then it will be that sin that he will use to hinder us in our walk with God. Let us examine our hearts if we haven’t already led ourselves to the captivity of sin becoming its servants. But God has promised us that through faith in His Son we can overcome the world. Through faith, if we ask anything in His Name, we shall receive it! How great are His promises! Satan knows if our faith is activated then there is no where for him to hide. Who can escape the hand of God? So then, let us not be overwhelmed by our surrounds or our very own nature, but let us place our eyes on Jesus Christ who will most gladly hear us when we cry to Him!

Be Strong in the Grace of God

“Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”2 Timothy 2:1

What is Grace? – the unmerited favor of God.

We stand not on our failures or achievements but solely on God’s Grace. Then we will be strong and have strength to be holy and upright because with His grace, it teaches us to deny worldly lust and that we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world (Titus 2:12).

Just as Paul extorted Timothy to be Strong in God’s grace so is Jesus speaking to us today to be in His grace strongly that we may day by day be able to resist all of the devil’s lies and temptation (which are only meant to get us out of the way!) By God’s grace we will make it to heaven.

  • If we look at our failures we won’t grow in God’s grace because we will feel undeserving of Him and feel un-confident to deal with the enemy’s attack. But thank God our confident isn’t supposed to be based on us but on Jesus!
  • If we look at our achievements then we are bound to fail and fall in sin because our much skill and ability will never keep us from sin. Only Jesus can help us do that who was in every point tempted as we were yet found without sin. (Hebrews 4:15) And He will do it for us if we trust in Him.
  • Finally, If our trust is in Him, if it has been grown by the reading of God’s word then we will be strong in His Grace! Everything else we build upon will fail, but not His Word when we trust in what it says. What are we building on today? His Word, our ability, our past failures?

When you’re in God’s grace, when you are rejoicing in the Salvation Jesus Christ has given you, you wont care if you just got your favorites pants dirty after eating! Why? Because your pants are going to perish but not your soul! There is something of eternal value that you have a sense of and nothing can by any means take it from you! “..and your joy no man taketh from you – John 16:22

God’s Favor is only found Through Jesus Christ. We must admit and confess our sins to Him, turn from our sinful paths, and reconcile into His loving arms if we wish to recover from a sinful fall or if we have been taken by the trends and flow of this evil world. And of course, if you want to know God today and be saved!

the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. – John 2:17

We can’t go wrong with that! God is looking for a people whose hearts are pure, shown by their clean lives, being unspotted from the world; visiting those in trouble and in affliction (James 1:27). Such life is the result of God’s Grace and not done under of own efforts. – – God Bless!

Everything’s a Trade in Life

After we are born again, Every course of action, every decisions we make is a trade. If we are going to the right, then we have traded everything found on the left for what is found on the right. We missed everything found on the left side to discover all that was on the right side.

Take for example sin. On life’s narrow road, sin is bound to appear to drive us off course. If we choose sin, say lust or anger, we (though we may not see it) are trading away the blessing of remaining faithful over pleasure/revenge for a season. As Paul wrote under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, let us work out our Salvation with fear and trembling.

Holiness and Sin are two separate roads. If you choose sin then whatever benefits were on the road of Holiness you miss out. The devil has robbed you from it! I will not say he has robbed you of your salvation for we do have a great mediator between man and God who will get us back on the right road if we are willing to repent from our sinful ways. That Man of course is Jesus but herein lies the Danger:

Sin hardens the heart with unbelief (Hebrews 3). Without belief how can we have faith in Jesus? Without faith in Jesus there is no Salvation. So then cease and stand against whatever sin you have notice in your life that has risen against you; else if you continue giving in, it will harden your heart with unbelief.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. ” – Galatians 5:1

Freedom is something very few people have in this free country. Many are imprisoned in their very own minds. Cells of Anxiety, Worry, Fear, and Despair is what people (even followers of Christ) are getting themselves into. And why? Because they have chosen to trade their freedom, peace, and joy which is found in Christ (without realizing it) for sin which leads according to God’s Word into slavery:

“Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?” – Romans 6:16

Satan may trick us with “well, God will forgive you if you give in.” What he’s not telling you is the very fact that once you give in, you are blindly rejecting God’s blessing; or worst than that, you are handing over the course of your life to be a prisoner of that sin; which may in-turn lead you further and further away from true repentance! Should we really believe that sin doesn’t come with a price, that we can just give into it and expect little consequences? No, the consequences are big and long lasting unless the Lord comes to our aid and breaks those chains! How will Jesus come to our aid if we are not willing to leave that sin but to continue in it?

When temptation comes it does so to oppress us. The word oppress means to exercise dominion over. The whole goal of sin is to make us it’s slaves. It comes to bother us until we give in. Sin is resisted through faith in Jesus (1 Peter 5:9) through the truth of God’s Word. Once you taste freedom you’ll think twice before going back to that sinful habit! I personally believe that any sinful habit will stop us from entering God’s Kingdom (Hebrews 12:14). God doesn’t care if the majority are doing it! (Stop comparing yourself with others!) God is very serious about sin because He knows the depressive effects of it!

Are you trading Away your life for sin?

At the gas station where I work there was a customer I had not seen for months. About a week or so I saw him and he was in complete utter ruin. This man had traded his life, strength, decency, car, marriage and money over drugs. I was shocked and without words when I saw him.

We look past what we may get ourselves into with sin but please listen, the cost is dangerous. When we become prisoners of sin we will feel like actual prisoners: Sad, lonely, in Despair, worried. In Jesus we have Joy, Peace, Self-Control, Meekness. Do you have these things beloved? Don’t lie to yourself! One way to know we are in Jesus is if we have the fruits of the Spirit, liberty to Obey His Voice and not to be in constant fear or worry (because those things are from the devil and the flesh and are probably in some cases the result of giving into sin). Here are some examples of the invisible chains people get bound by:

Some trade their joy and peace for pornography (Which when the moment is over, what they really traded their joy and peace was for chains of despair and fear) I personally believe if this bad habit continues in a persons life, then I assume there is no entrance for them in Heaven. Think about this for a moment. True Repentance is when a person never returns to that particular sin he or she is given too. David never returned back to adultery, The prodigal son never went back to his old life style, and Peter never denied Jesus again. This is something we must deal with in our life through Faith in God, spiritual warfaring, fasting, Obedience of God’s Word, and crying out to God to be free.

Others trade their time and attention for video games, anime, and tv shows (Then soon without realizing it, become consumed by worthless things which did not impact their lives but wasted it instead; having at the end to give account of their Talents to Jesus at judgment day, who is also the great Judge of us all)

Then there are those who physically trade in their health, money, and family over drugs and for what? May God have mercy for the end of all these things is death and hell. But there is hope in Jesus Christ who can break every chain and loosen every prisoner, when we come to Him in Faith.

“Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: Therefore He brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”

Psalm 107:10-15

Waiting on God

There are times when we begin to work out thoughts in our minds to imagine how our work for this or that should be; and then comes the Holy Spirit upon us, pulling us away from having such thoughts.

“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these thingsBut seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Matthew 6:31-33

Your desire to work for God isn’t bad. What’s bad is that you are taking thought on it; how to do this or that or which text / scene / song to use when it is God who will give you the instruction. Cease to figure it out, it’s not our job. Don’t become desperate.

When He gives it to you then work on it. While you wait on Him seek ye first His Kingdom and righteousness.

Whether its drawing, writing or music you use to exercise your imagination to put together your work for God’s Kingdom, God tells us to put it down and wait on Him. Amen

Looking unto Jesus

not unto our failures or capability but unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. When we look on Him then we have the joy of victory even before we defeat our enemy (the devil) or a spiritual stronghold of whatever kind it may be – whether it’s lust, anger, despair, drug abuse, alcohol.

If I truly put my hope in Christ who is the God of love, whose name is above every name and power both in Heaven and in hell; than their emerges a hope that is a able to resist the longest of foes I have been struggling with.

Ask to Be Filled With The Holy Ghost

This hope emerges when we are filled by the Holy Ghost when we in prayer, taking the time and patience, ask God to be refilled with His awesome mighty Spirit. By then having His Spirit overflow in us we shall then have the confidence to take on, endure, and fight each battle Satan throws at us. Though my foes be great and tall, vast in numbers, with a book of spells to enchant or seduce I know the God I have has long ago defeated this kind of enemy even before I was around.

If I am looking unto myself, comparing myself with the problem then I am putting my hope upon myself who am a mere man; who can not change one hair white nor add a cubit of measure to my height! If I so put my hope on myself then I will fall in discouragement, in despair because logic will tell me and reason will pound me with “You will not and can not fix this, leave this, nor endure this!”

Seek Him and you will Find Him

You may still be saying “Where can I get this sudden faith?” It may be my friend that you may just have to seek Him with all your heart. And then when He visits you after you Praise his name in the mist of discouragement and give thanks for His mercy and confess and forsake your sins to Him, all in prayer, then you will have this hope. As it is written: “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13

And when He visits you then you will know you are not alone and every verse that you quote, that proceeds out of His mouth will you also know that they are eternal and righteous and true; taring down all spiritual strongholds for His glory’s sake.

As we look on Jesus allowing nothing good or bad to remove our sight from Him, we shall surely have victory in all things. For it is Jesus who loves us and it is the Father’s good pleasure to give us His kingdom. Now we will stand and make it past the enemy’s trench and reach the goal if our hope reminds in Christ. Amen

Our Only Hope is in Christ

I AM

the Way,

the Truth,

and the Life:

No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:6

Salvation in Jesus is the simplest thing yet at times we may think we are somehow more deserving to enter heaven than before. Our lives may have changed by the power of the Spirit but we are no deserving of God’s kingdom now than when we were in the world living in sin, or any better before giving into “that” sin last week or yesterday.

God loves us all and is merciful and will forgive us when we confess and repent by heart what ever sinful thing we did. (1 John 1:9-10) Evidence that we have turned to God is found in the way we live. “Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.” Matthew 3:8 NLT

Are we hiding certain links on our browser that are inappropriate sites or blogs? Are we following such wicked sites on tumblr? Let us be separated from them as God commands us and so shall we not give the devil a foot hold in our lives. Are there sensual blogs with hints of immorality, secular by nature? Flee from them and have nothing to do with them; for without realizing you may cause a brother to stumble and you will have to give account for it.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

Finally Brethren

Let us rest in God’s promises of redemption and fight evil and wicked oppressive spirits that want us to summit to the sinful treads of this world. May we resist unto the end using the Name of Jesus Christ against all evil spirits and waiting on the Spirit to give us His word to take out against that wicked one.

May God bless you and may give us knowledge and remembrance everyday of His unfailing love for us all. Amen
