Jesus said “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63) Truly the words of God will fill your soul with life.

A time comes however when we begin to run low on faith, love, or strength to serve the Lord. In seasons like these we are to drink from the fountain of life which is the Word God, living water for the soul. Note how when you are under this state you will feel an opposing force trying to stop you from reaching the Word of God to read it; for the devil knows if you open the Word, the Spirit will guide you to the right verse renewing your hope in God. And with such a renewal of faith there comes a strength and a power that revives your soul.

Once I felt my faith lacking in life and at the same time there was something in my presence trying to stop me from reading God’s word. Yet with all this I pressed through and taking my Bible I began to read Ezekiel 37 and as I read my heart began to be strengthen and like rain pouring on a dry day so was my soul refreshed and revived.

“..Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live..” (Ezekiel 37:13-14)

Though this verse is a prophesy for the people of Israel (and could possibly be an illustration of the resurrection) I found it to speak to me in the sense that God was telling me “as these dead bones which I brought back to life so will I bring back your faith.” If the Lord can lift up dead man’s bones and put each piece back together so will He be able to bring back our faith and hope in Him; For nothing is greater and more life giving than the joy of God’s salvation, and the hope of it.
